With thanks to our wonderful authors, editors, titlers, playlist creators, and illustrators, the anthology has now been sent for formatting to our amazing formatter!

Editors are now sending their editing suggestions to the authors. Our assumption is always that the piece you sent, as an author, was in the form you would like it to be in. The purpose of editing is to polish out typos, apply consistent styling across the whole book, and make whatever minimal changes will improve readability. If authors are concerned that too many changes are being asked of them (please remember, any changes have to be approved and edited before the end of October 9th), they should feel free to say no or ask for a second opinion.

Eleven participants attended online, and seven were present in the library meeting room, for a total of 18. Jim Elstad led the meeting in Sheila Deeth’s absence. Angela Mollet managed the technology from the library, with assistance from Matthew McAyeal and Robin Layne.

Between 16 and 20 members joined us for our “Mystery in July” meeting, and enjoyed a fascinating insight into a real-life mystery, provoking much fascinating discussion of might-have-beens and how those might-have-beens might be written. But first Sheila asked for some shows of hands before handing over to Lyndsay to share this month’s contest results.
